Authors: Mero Aguilar, Jefferson Stalyn; Cabrera Espín, Sofia Isabel, Director
Abstract: In Ecuador, 6 out of every 10 births are to single mothers. This means that more
than half of the babies born in this country arrive at home without a father.
In addition to that figure, the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (INEC)
has alerted society to the limited time men dedicate to raising their children. In other
words, even if a man stays home, he can become an emotionally absent father figure.
This absence leads to difficulties in the parenting process. Research indicates
that children with absent fathers tend to have low self-esteem, poor academic
performance, and a low level of responsibility.
This project aims to create content about responsible fatherhood using
generative artificial intelligence (AI) and audiovisual post-production software to raise
awareness among fathers aged 25 to 45 about their role in raising their children.
The methodology is based on the research-create strategy, which posits that
artistic creation processes and creative activities generate knowledge. It also
emphasizes that the works and products resulting from these processes are knowledge
in themselves, but clarifies that this is tacit, experiential knowledge.
Due to the nature of this strategy, the process is iterative. It naturally tends to
evolve into research-create-research.
The workflow used the AI Gemini for treatment and script work. It then moved to
the AI MidJourney to generate still images of the characters and backgrounds. Next, it
used the AI Kling to convert the still images into video clips. The voiceovers were
generated with the AI ElevenLabs. Finally, everything was combined in the postproduction
software After Effects.
Keywords: Absent fatherhood, Artificial intelligence, AI, generative, short film,
research, creation.
Tiende naturalmente a

Abstract: The culture of extreme productivity in modernity is a phenomenon that exploits and disregards
the work and passion of many creative people, increasing chronic fatigue and the disconnection
from artistic and emotional senses. This phenomenon, driven by capitalism, has turned art into a
fast-moving, worthless consumer product, where the audience no longer consumes critical
thinking. Given this context, the need arises to create pieces with a high conceptual level as a
symbol of resistance. The purpose of this study is to develop a concept trailer “A Dose of
Passion”, designed as the basis for becoming a surreal horror videogame that explains the
mental deterioration caused by social pressure, restoring the value of the creative process
through which an artist transitions. The methodology used is based on the research into dream
and psychological symbolism, personal introspection and conceptual development through
metaphors such as the “boiling frog”, which allows for the exposure of the unconscious selfdestruction
of a creative individual. The strength of the narrative was prioritized over
technicality. The project's viability was centered on respecting the time needed for the
development of ideas and overcoming creative blocks, confirming that art is not an automation
tool. Through qualitative validation with artists, it was determined that the piece manages to
generate deep reflection and break down passive motivational discourses, appreciating
vulnerability and turning it into strength. It was determined that the use of art, in its most sincere
form, serves as an emotional channel in the face of a toxic positivity society, inspiring creatives
to create from the soul. These strategies serve as a basis for raising awareness, inviting the
viewer to question what self-exploitative dynamics they accept and motivating them to reclaim
their creative power in the face of the immediacy of society.
Key words: Extreme productivity, surrealist horror, toxic positivity, creative resistance,
dream symbolism.

Abstract: The project Usuario Cero consists of the development of an audiovisual and sound language
proposal for a fiction short film that reflects on the relationship between identity, authorship and
digital automation in the contemporary context. Based on the subjective experience of an
audiovisual creator confronted with an artificial intelligence capable of replicating their creative
style, the project problematises notions of originality, creative control and authorial value within an
environment mediated by algorithmic technologies.
Through a research-creation methodology, the project articulates an interdisciplinary theoretical
framework that integrates film studies, cultural theory and philosophy of technology, engaging with
concepts such as technical reproducibility, simulacrum, the crisis of authorship and the automation
of creative processes. These reflections are translated into concrete narrative, visual and sound
decisions, resulting in an aesthetic proposal grounded in minimalist cinema, silence, temporal
dilation and affective neutrality.
The short film proposes a contained and contemplative narrative that avoids explicit conflict and
privileges observation, constructing a reflective experience for the viewer. Through an austere
mise-en-scène and minimalist sound design, Usuario Cero positions itself as a work that does not
seek to provide definitive answers about the impact of artificial intelligence on artistic creation, but
rather opens a critical space to question the role of the human creator in the digital age.
Keywords: Audiovisual language, minimalist cinema, authorship, artificial intelligence, digital
automation, audiovisual creation.

Abstract: The saturation of content on social media has encouraged passive consumption of lowvalue
information, making it difficult to find meaningful cultural works in digital environments. In
this context, Mitoscopía presents a pilot episode in the form of an audiovisual essay that narrates
and depicts a specific myth and links it to different reinterpretations throughout art history through
motion graphics. The pilot focuses on the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice as a proof of concept
for a format conceived as a web series, without the development of a full season being within the
project’s scope. The objective is to produce the pilot by integrating motion graphics and sound
design to analyze the myth and its re-signification in visual artworks. The methodology includes
selecting the myth and related works, developing the script and animatic with expert review,
producing the piece up to a final cut with sound mixing, and conducting a viewing test with
audience members through a brief questionnaire to assess clarity and narrative pacing. As a
result, a standalone 3–4 minute episode in horizontal format (16:9), intended for digital platforms,
is expected to combine digital shadow theatre with an “infinite canvas” style journey to
contextualize artworks without compromising legibility.
Keywords: audiovisual essay, myth, art history, motion graphics, voice-over, sound design.
