Abstract: The Chocó bioregion is one of the 17 hotspots due to its high biodiversity, however, it suffers from high deforestation due to land use change because of anthropogenic activities. In the Pichincha canton, in Ecuador, the company Arbofino company has been developing reforestation and sustainable production activities for some years, but they do not know how the plant structure and plant diversity vary in the reforested sites, so we implemented a field protocol in 2 plots of natural regeneration and 2 of reforestation, each one with different antiquity; calculating canopy and vegetation cover using cell applications and woody and non-woody vegetation, grass, woody remains and litter with a simple visual method, finding significant differences in canopy, vegetation cover, woody vegetation and grass. In addition, we collected and identified samples from each plot, finding 70 species; indices of abundance and diversity were also made, with the regeneration sites being the most diverse.
