Abstract

CONDITION FOR PUBLICATION OF PROJECT. This research addresses significant problems faced by ABC Company due to inefficient time management in innovation projects, resulting in high rates of internal delays that negatively impact productivity. The objective of this study was to design and develop a manual of IT tools by analyzing the main management and control needs at ABC Company and characterizing each proposed digital system to contribute to operational efficiency and business decision-making. First, a descriptive and exploratory research approach was applied using direct observation and semi-structured interviews. This allowed for the identification of factors influencing internal operational processes and the documentation of the company's current state according to the department studied. In this same vein, Design Thinking was developed as the foundational methodology for capturing the real performance needs of employees: empathize, investigate, define, ideate, prototype, and evaluate. Subsequently, a map of internal and external stakeholders was created to guide information management regarding human talent and task assignment to understand the area's functioning. Additionally, tools such as a) SWOT analysis, b) saturation and grouping, and c) insight were used to establish the scope of the study and categorize information that reveals key patterns, allowing for problem definition and guiding the prototype design. The study's findings highlight that the time required to develop an activity decreased rapidly during periods of high demand, unexpected requests, and critical approval phases, reflecting management limitations due to operational urgencies.
