Abstract: The crustacean industry in Ecuador is internationally projected as one of the sectors with the greatest demand for products. This projection, if not used strategically, would result in the increase of solid waste generated from these activities, causing a long-term problem of contamination to the environment. This study presents the elaboration and implementation of a semiartesanal protocol, to obtain by-products from the exploitation of the exoskeletons of three species of crustaceans of commercial interest for Ecuador (Ucides occidentalis, Callinectes arcuatus, Litopenaeus vannamei), and in turn, the evaluation of the inhibition potential of the by-products obtained by treatment of effectiveness on a pathogenic agent (Mycosphaerella fijiensis), present in banana production. With the results of this work, it was possible to demonstrate the feasibility of extracting by-products with the capacity to inhibit the growth of causal agents of agricultural interest, presenting differences in the results in relation to the species analyzed and the type of initial treatment of the exoskeletons (raw and cooked), being the product obtained from cooked exoskeletons of red crab (U. occidentalis), the one that presented better percentages of inhibition (94%), on the development of the causal agent under study
