dc.description.abstractObjective. To analyze the determinants that influence the decision to take the use of the preservative as a preventive measure in the sexual meetings, in HSH’s sample that they reside in the cities of the Ecuador who participated in the Frontiers Prevention Projects. It is believed that this information will allow to realize plans of action focused on this vulnerable group to the epidemic. Methods. This article adjusts to HSH´s sample in three cities where one directed the intervention and five cities considered of control, to identify the factors that affect in the preventive behavior of the HSH there was in use the method of logistic regression, in addition the analysis of correspondence allowed to analyze who proposes the use of the surest mesure in the sexual acts. Result. Considering the behavior of the HSH with his last three couples, the variables that influence positively to the decision to be protected against VIH/SIDA´s infection are: to know that the infection for this virus can get ready, the fact that the couple is frequent and in addition to receive money of the sexual couple. As for whom proposes the surest method in all the cities of agreement to the criterion of intervention in the main were the polled ones.en
