Abstract

CONDITION FOR PUBLICATION OF PROJECT. The Pozo Lino archaeological site, located in Olón, Santa Elena, whose integrity has been affected by natural and anthropogenic factors, presents a highly fragmented assemblage of ceramic material. The area lacks systematic archaeological research, and the available information comes mainly from infrastructure works that have allowed pieces to be recovered and the heritage to be partially preserved. For the study of the ceramic fragments, stylistic groups were formed, to which the techno-morphological analysis methodology was applied in order to reconstruct the operational chain of each of them, which made it possible to identify the ceramic production techniques used at the site. This approach also made it possible to establish cultural affiliations with recognized traditions in the region, such as Chorrera, Guangala, and Manteño-Guancavilca, highlighting the technological diversity of Pozo Lino and providing a fundamental basis for future archaeological research in Olón.
