Abstract

CONDITION FOR PROJECT PUBLICATION. This project focuses on approaching the problem of animal abandonment with the purpose of creating a short film using the Stop Motion technique to promote the animals protection and care. For the execution of this Project, the cut-out technique was used, where felt fabric was the main material for the creation of the characters and sets. About 50 cut-outs and 5 sets were made, those were animated at 12 frames per second to give that handcrafted feeling that the stop motion technique is known for. Finally, the audiovisual product} “Mia” was created, a two minutes and thirty seconds long short film, which shows a different perspective of the living situation that street animals live in. In conclusion the narrative of this history is to impact the audience and motivate the care and protection of animals by the intentional use of shapes, textures and colors.
