Abstract: Implementing new educational techniques and textbooks that integrate the principles of STREAM (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) paves the way for a new trend in language learning because the integration of a variety of subjects leads to the acquisition of valuable knowledge (Stohlmann et al., 2012). The study aims at identifying the effects of teaching STREAM on a group of Fifth Grade students from a school in Samborondón, Guayas. The first chapter shows the general and specific objectives of this study and justifies the importance of exploring how the English language teaching process has evolved with the STREAM approach. The second chapter introduces the origins and evolution of the approach, laying the theoretical foundations for the following research. Chapter 3 establishes the research methodology, describing the characteristics of the participants and the methods to collect data. The fourth chapter present and analyze the results of this study, based on the following aspects: students’ perceptions and motivations to learn with STREAM, students’ recommendations to enhance the STREAM approach, teachers’ perceptions about STREAM, and strategies and expectations with STREAM, along with some conclusions for the present study.
