Abstract: Nowadays, it is necessary and important to be communicated. In some cases, people demand improvements and technological advances that allow exchanging information in a fast and reliable way. For this reason, big companies dedicated to create telecommunication solutions have developed Wireless Mesh Networks (WMN), which is a mesh technology capable of self-configurable and self-regenerated. This is being implemented in several rural and urban areas, and university campuses in the United States, and Europe, which has obtained successful results, getting thousands of users satisfied. In this article, we will mention features, application scenarios, mesh equipment providers. We will make a network design with the technology mentioned above for the Electrical and Computing Engineering Faculty from the Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral. We will demonstrate a simulation of the proposed design which makes signal coverage measurements. Finally, we will implement a prototype of a Mesh Network for comparison of theoretical, simulated and real data.
