Automatización del procedimiento contable en una terminal terrestre mediante la personalización del sistema ERP

Abstract

CONDITION FOR PUBLICATION OF PROJECT. The project focuses on optimizing the accounting procedures of the Guayaquil Terrestrial Terminal Foundation (FTTG) through the customization of the Microsoft Dynamics AX ERP system, as the budget management module was underutilized and a large portion of operations were carried out using spreadsheets. This situation increased the risk of errors, delays in report generation, and limitations in internal control. A mixed-method approach was applied, combining interviews, questionnaires, and documentary analysis to diagnose the current use of the system and identify the main risks. These included lack of staff training, manual preparation of reports, absence of automated alerts, and limited integration between departments. The findings showed that the ERP system has sufficient functionalities to cover the entire budget cycle, including the creation of annual models, financial dimensions, and real-time report generation. This allows for the strengthening of institutional control mechanisms and ensures the traceability of financial information. The study concludes that the full implementation of the budget management module, together with a training plan and periodic audits, represents an effective alternative to minimize operational risks, improve resource utilization, and ensure the financial sustainability of the institution.
