Resumen:
CONDITION FOR PUBLICATION OF PROJECT. project aims to optimize the user experience of the request management
system for the Research Ethics Committee (REC) of the Escuela Superior Polit´ecnica del
Litoral (ESPOL). Currently, the process is performed manually, which generates delays and
difficulties in user interaction with the system. To address these limitations, a functional
prototype was developed to improve the issuance of resolutions by integrating email
notifications into key processes and optimizing the user interface, while respecting
institutional standards. New features have also been incorporated, such as a Frequently Asked
Questions (FAQ) section to guide users through the use of the system and the implementation
of electronic signatures, which strengthens the validity and security of the issued documents.
The prototype was implemented using React technologies for the frontend, ASP.NET for the
backend, MySQL as the database manager, and various APIs for integration with ESPOL’s
internal processes. The development was carried out using an agile methodology, dividing the
work into weekly sprints with client participation and performing functional tests to validate
the system’s performance and reliability. The results reflect a significant improvement in
process efficiency, improved communication with users, and improved system usability.

CONDICIONAMIENTO DE PUBLICACION DE PROYECTO. El presente proyecto tiene como objetivo optimizar la experiencia de usuario del
sistema de gesti´on de solicitudes dirigidas al Comit´e de ´ Etica en Investigaci´on (CEI) de la
Escuela Superior Polit´ecnica del Litoral (ESPOL). Actualmente, el proceso se realiza de
manera manual, lo que genera retrasos y dificultades en la interacci´on de los usuarios con el
sistema. Para abordar estas limitaciones, se desarroll´o un prototipo funcional que mejora la
emisi´on de resoluciones, integrando notificaciones por correo electr´onico en los procesos
clave y optimizando la interfaz de usuario, respetando siempre los est´andares institucionales.
Asimismo, se incorporaron nuevas funcionalidades como una secci´on de Preguntas Frecuentes
(FAQ) para guiar a los usuarios en el uso del sistema y la implementaci´on de firma electr´onica,
lo que fortalece la validez y seguridad de los documentos emitidos. El prototipo fue
implementado utilizando las tecnolog´ıas React para el frontend, ASP.NET para el backend,
MySQL como gestor de base de datos y diversos APIs para la integraci´on con procesos
internos de la ESPOL. El desarrollo se llev´o a cabo siguiendo una metodolog´ıa ´agil,
dividiendo el trabajo en sprints semanales con la participaci´on del cliente y realizando pruebas
funcionales con el fin de validar el desempe˜no y la fiabilidad del sistema. Los resultados
reflejan una mejora significativa en la eficiencia del proceso, mejor comunicaci´on con los
usuarios y mayor usabilidad del sistema.
