Abstract:
The current paper presents the implementation of a NBX central telephone office like a technological alternative
of IP telephony, to replace a Private Branch Exchange (PBX) system. First, an analysis of the present
infrastructure of the communications network, and the reasons that motivate to change of platform in the telephone
network, in company ICESA-ORVE is realized. Once obtained, this data it is come with the investigation of the
possible solutions of IP Telephony, or IP-PBX systems, in the market to determine the one that better adjusts to the
needs of the project, with the majors technical advantages, and the smaller possible economic impact; the result
was the election of a NBX central telephone office like a complete solution of IP Telephony. Finally, one becomes a
study of voice traffic, and consumption of bandwidth, advantages and disadvantages of NBX system, and the
necessary recommendations for the growth in this telephone infrastructure.
